From India, with heart
Gypsey Rose begins in South Africa, where each garment is designed with South African women in mind. The designs are then brought to life in India using breathable 100% cotton and traditional craftsmanship.
Why it matters
Every Gypsey Rose garment carries a story of colour, travel, natural cotton and the hands that bring each design to life.
More than ten years ago, Gypsey Rose began as a one-woman adventure to India. The founder, Tess, became fascinated by the ancient art of block printing, the purity of 100% cotton, the intricate and unique embroidery, and the incredible, timeless skills of Indian artisans.
A few years into the journey, Tess was joined by her beautiful daughter, Sam. Sharing a deep passion for the beauty that India has to offer with a loved one is a true gift. Together, Tess and Sam have nurtured a rare and beautiful partnership.
The duo travels to India twice a year to personally source and design fabrics, translating their shared inspiration into thoughtfully created garments.
Over the years, Gypsey Rose has built special, close relationships with its manufacturers. Even when things are occasionally lost in translation, the journey continues with absolute love, patience, and passion. The brand embraces “Manifesting, Mantras, and Magical Moments” at every step of the way.
Alongside clothing production, Tess nurtures her deep love for exploring India. For those who share her passion for travel, Tess also facilitates and hosts small-group journeys to many of her favourite and diverse destinations across the country.
Locally, the unique garments can be explored in person at the Gypsey Rose Showroom in Roosevelt Park, Johannesburg.

Delivery takes 3–5 working days.
Items can be returned within 7 days if the labels are attached and the garment is in the same condition as received.
Use a cool machine wash, avoid wringing, and dry in the shade. Hand wash jackets in cold water to protect the fabric and embroidery.
Use the size guide on each product page and choose the fit you prefer. Our cotton pieces are cut to feel easy, breathable, and forgiving on the body.
